Which crypto exchange has the lowest trading fees in Brazil?

Updated Sep 18, 2026Reviewed by Darren TsangFacts as of Sep 1, 2026
Quick answer

among the eight exchanges we cover in Brazil, the lowest published trading fees for a new account are Binance's standard spot schedule (0.100% taker), Bybit on crypto-to-crypto pairs (0.1000%), and OKX's global schedule (0.1000%). The catch: if you trade BRL pairs directly, OKX charges 0.4000% taker and Bybit 0.2000% — far more than the advertised 0.10%. Coinbase does not publish its fee schedule on a verifiable public page, so it sits outside the priced ranking — confirm its fee inside your account.

Fees are as shown on each exchange's public fee page on September 1, 2026, always at the entry tier (lowest volume). Everything can change; confirm on the order screen before you trade.

What a BRL 1,000 buy costs at each exchange

The table uses the published taker fee (market order, filled immediately) at the entry tier. Maker orders (limit orders that wait in the book) are almost always cheaper.

Ranking by published fees

For market orders at the entry tier, the cost-per-trade ranking looks like this:

  1. Binance, Bybit (crypto-crypto), and OKX (global schedule) — 0.10% taker, effectively tied. On Binance, a Regular User pays 0.100% maker and taker on the standard schedule, before optional BNB discounts.
  2. Bybit on BRL pairs — 0.2000% taker and 0.1500% maker at the lowest tier of its fiat schedule.
  3. OKX on BRL pairs and Bitso — 0.4000% and 0.400% taker respectively. Bitso's BRL table starts at 0.200% maker below 541,000 BRL in 30-day volume.
  4. Crypto.com Exchange — 0.500% taker at Level 1 (without a CRO balance). With a CRO balance, maker drops to 0% and taker to 0.4400%.
  5. Mercado Bitcoin — 0.70% taker on the Clássica and Pro experiences (0.30% maker). Crypto-to-crypto pairs such as BTC-USDT trade fee-free.
  6. Kraken Pro — 0.80% taker and 0.40% maker at Tier 1.

Coinbase sits outside the ranking: it does not publish its fee schedule on a verifiable public page (details below).

Each exchange has its own cost review, covering Pix, withdrawals and each platform's traps: Binance, Bybit, Coinbase, Kraken, Mercado Bitcoin and OKX.

The trap: global schedule vs BRL pairs

The number an exchange advertises is not always what you pay when trading in reais.

  • OKX: the global framework lists 0.0800% maker and 0.1000% taker for regular users. But OKX's own Brazilian fee page has a separate "Pares BRL" tab where a regular user pays 0.10% maker and 0.4000% taker — four times the global rate. Buying BTC with BRL directly costs BRL 4.00 per BRL 1,000, not BRL 1.00.
  • Bybit: the headline 0.1000% table applies to crypto-to-crypto pairs. Fiat-crypto pairs (which is what BRL pairs are) follow a separate schedule that starts at 0.2000% taker and 0.1500% maker below 100,000 USD in volume.
  • Binance: the standard schedule lists no BRL-pair exception, and Binance publishes no separate table for reais. Confirm on the order screen that your account shows the same rate.

Before trading, open the exchange's fee page and find the tab or note for the exact pair you plan to trade — not the generic table.

A common workaround for BRL-pair fees is converting reais into a stablecoin and trading the crypto-to-crypto pair instead, but every conversion has its own cost (a fee or a spread) that belongs in the math.

Beyond the trading fee

The maker/taker fee is only part of the total cost.

  • Spread: instant-buy modes can pad the price. Mercado Bitcoin discloses that its quick-trade (Negociação Rápida) spread can reach up to 2%, on top of a quick-trade fee ranging from 0.7% to 3% by order size. The other exchanges do not publish order-book spread as a fixed rate; compare the book price before you fill an order.
  • BRL deposits and withdrawals: Bitso lists Pix deposits (under 1 minute) and Pix withdrawals free of charge; Mercado Bitcoin lists BRL deposits and withdrawals at zero fee. Kraken lists Pix deposits with a 50 BRL minimum and a 0.3% (IOF) charge. Binance, Bybit, OKX, and Crypto.com do not detail their BRL deposit and withdrawal costs on their public fee pages; check those values inside your account before moving money.
  • Conversion: buying through a simple/instant mode almost always costs more than placing an order on the book. Mercado Bitcoin illustrates the gap: 0.70% taker on Pro versus up to 3% plus spread on quick trade.

What the exchanges do not publish

  • Coinbase: does not publish its fee schedule on a verifiable public page, so it stays out of the priced ranking. Do not assume it is cheaper or more expensive — confirm the fee shown inside your logged-in account before trading.
  • BRL pairs on Binance and Crypto.com: neither publishes a schedule specific to reais; the rate that counts is the one shown on your order screen.
  • Effective spread on BRL order books: none of the eight publishes it as a fixed rate; compare the book price against any instant-buy price before larger orders.

Checklist before you trade

  1. Open the fee page and find the schedule for the exact pair you will trade (BRL or crypto-crypto), not the global table.
  2. While signed in, confirm the maker and taker rate applied to your account on the order screen.
  3. Compare the instant-buy price against the order-book price before using any quick-buy mode.
  4. Check BRL (Pix) deposit and withdrawal costs and any minimums.
  5. If the exchange offers a token discount (BNB, CRO), confirm the conditions before counting on the reduced rate.

R$ worked example — R$1.000 taker across lowest published entries

Using only published entry taker lines cited in this guide:

ExchangePublished entry takerApprox. on R$1.000
Binance standard spot0.100%R$1.00
Bybit crypto↔crypto non-VIP0.100%R$1.00
OKX regular-user0.10%R$1.00

“Lowest fee” still fails if you ignore deposit/withdraw, pair table, and VIP basis — stack those before crowning a winner.

FAQ

Do I pay the maker or the taker fee? A market order (filled immediately) pays taker. A limit order that waits in the book pays maker, which is usually cheaper.

Why does OKX charge 0.4000% when it advertises 0.10%? The 0.10% applies to its global, non-BRL schedule. OKX's own "Pares BRL" tab lists 0.4000% taker for regular users.

Is zero-fee trading real? In niches, yes: Mercado Bitcoin lists crypto-to-crypto pairs at zero fee, and Crypto.com drops the maker fee to 0% with a CRO balance. None of the eight offers zero taker fees on BRL pairs at the entry tier.

Which exchange is cheapest for me? It depends on the pair and order type. For market orders in BRL, the published schedules point to Binance as the lowest cost; for high volume or maker orders, the ranking shifts.

Verdict

By published entry-tier cost per trade, Binance, Bybit, and OKX all advertise the same 0.10% taker — but only Binance keeps that number on a BRL pair according to the published schedules; Bybit's BRL pairs rise to 0.20% and OKX's to 0.4000%. Bitso (0.400%), Crypto.com (0.500%), Mercado Bitcoin (0.70%), and Kraken (0.80%) trail at the entry taker tier, and Coinbase still publishes no verifiable public schedule. The trading fee is not the whole cost: add spread, deposits, withdrawals, and conversion before you decide.
